The ARG 5410 MkII is designed to provide independent reassurance that a beacon designed to operate via the COSPAS-SARSAT system is functional, and correctly encoded.
The tester is capable of checking that the frequency of the transmitted 406MHz signal is within tolerance, and of giving an independent check of the beacon coding.
